The transitions of seasons; people coming and going; a landscape of a myriad prayers. With a history of over 1,200 years, Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto has since 2012 partaken in the FEEL KIYOMIZUDERA project, which aims to capture the essence of "now", expressed not only in the form of Buddhist statues and structures, but also in the innumerable accumulated moments and expressions that have and will continue to emerge into existence. This year's exhibition will present the work of Takuro Kuwata.
Similar to how "prayer" is a deed performed as a daily ritual at a temple, "production" in turn is the act Kuwata as an artist performs day after day, and those works resulting from his unceasing production will be exhibited on this occasion.
In the midst of the ancient history of such places of art creation as Kiyomizu-dera Temple's Jojuin and Kyodo Hall, it is a precious opportunity to encounter new moments and possibilities.
