SEIRYU-E | 青龍会‐観音加持‐ Sep 15, 2024 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. 日程：9月15日（日） 時間：午後2時ごろ～午後3時30分ごろ行道 経路： 午後2時 奥の院出発→地主神社→音羽の瀧→経堂→三重塔→西門→ 午後2時30分 石段下→門前町→仁王門→轟門→本堂 ※経路は変更になる場合があります。 One of the legends of the temple says that a blue dragon (Seiryu in Japanese), an incarnation of Kannon, flies to drink from the waterfall every night. Furthermore, Yasha, originally a demon-god, is enshrined in a small shrine in the south side of Okuno-in Hall. Yasha has been worshiped as a match-making god who guards the ground of Seiryu and the principal image as well as a disruptor of evil karma. At this event, with a 18-meter long figure of the blue dragon leading the way, a wide variety of performers adorned with gorgeous costumes parade through the grounds and the temple town, praying for regional peace and expelling bad luck. Observing the incarnation of Kannon performing, the audience chant “Namu-kannon” in chorus and pray for good luck. 東方の守護神であり、当山のご本尊・観音さまの化身である「青龍」を掲げ、厄除け、招福を祈願する「青龍会‐観音加持‐（せいりゅうえ-かんのんかじ-）」を行います。  年に2度、春と秋だけの行事で、全長10メートルを超える青龍と四天王、夜叉神、十六善神といった様々な装束の一行が、境内と門前町を練り歩きます。迫力ある青龍の姿と凝った衣裳もみどころの一つ。ワダエミ先生のデザインにより、京都の伝統工芸の職人さんの技術の粋を集めて創られました。青龍を通して観音さまとのご縁を結んでいただければ幸いです。

Adult 500 Yen / elementary & junior high student 200 Yen —   THE HOLY CUSTOM TAKES PLACE ONTHE DAYS WHEN KANNON’S BLESSINGSARE AMPLIFIED The custom of the Thousand-day Pilgrimage, during which one day of prayer is equivalent to a thousand days’ worth of meritorious prayers, took root alongside the spread of the worship of Kannon. It has widely gained popularity as the event for which the Kannon’s blessings are amplified. On these days, you can feel the great compassion of Kannon, who earnestly listens to every person’s vows and worries and strives to relieve each torment.
